Jリーグ第18節清水エスパルスVSアルビレックス新潟で、両チームのサポーターがウイニングイレブンで対戦するというイベントが開催された。 決戦の場となったのは7月20日、清水の日本平スタジアム。 ここで開催される清水エスパルスVSアルビレックス新潟の両チームのサポーターが、『Ｊリーグウイニングイレブン2008 クラブチャンピオンシップ（JWE2008CC)』で勝負するという内容だ。 このイベントに参加できたのは、200人以上の応募者の中から抽選で選ばれた、両クラブのサポーター３２人。開場前の14：30から予選を開催、トーナメントを勝ちあがったそれぞれの代表サポーター両名は、なんと試合が行われる日本平のピッチサイドで決勝戦を戦った。  決勝戦は、ホームとなる清水エスパルスが優勢。前半８分に、ゴール前のこぼれ球を、西沢選手が押し込んで、いきなり先制。その後は両者ともに決め手を欠き、このまま前半終了かというところで、アルビレックスの内田選手がロスタイムに同点ゴール！緊迫した展開で前半を終了した。 しかし後半は清水の攻撃陣が爆発。後半１０分には、マルコス・パウロ選手、１５分には矢島卓郎選手が立て続けにゴールをゲット。トータルスコアは３−０で、サポーターマッチは清水エスパルスに軍配が上がった。 実際の試合も西沢選手の2ゴールの活躍もあり、3-0で清水エスパルスが勝利。 ゲームの勢いそのままに、今回はホームのエスパルスが奮闘した形となった。 選手だけでなくサポーターも戦いに加われるこのイベント。 試合とあわせ、両チームのサポーターたちを熱くさせたようだ。 【イベント概要】 「Jリーグウイニングイレブン2008 オレンジダービー」 日時：2008年7月20日（日） 会場：日本平スタジアム 試合入場者数： 17,025人 【ソフト概要】 『Jリーグウイニングイレブン2008 クラブチャンピオンシップ』 ■メーカー：KONAMI ■対応機種：PS2 ■ジャンル：SPG ■発売日：2008年7月20日 ■価格：6,980円(税込) LICENSED BY JAPAN PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE Stats Stadium adidas, the 3-Bars logo and the 3-Stripes mark are registered trade marks of the adidas Group, used with permission.
